Opportunity Engine
Opportunity Engine is a personal, locally run research tool made by an independent developer based in Cyprus. It helps its owner evaluate search demand for small product ideas: the owner enters search phrases for a chosen market and language, and the tool produces a research report with demand metrics, data sources and open questions.
What it does with Google Ads
With the owner's authorization (OAuth scope https://www.googleapis.com/auth/adwords), the tool calls the Google Ads API for the owner's own Google Ads account to:
- read the account's currency (one read-only query);
- request historical keyword metrics (GenerateKeywordHistoricalMetrics) for phrases the owner supplies;
- request keyword ideas (GenerateKeywordIdeas) from seed phrases or a URL the owner supplies.
The tool does not create, change or delete campaigns, ads, budgets or any other account settings, and does not access other people's accounts.
Who uses it
Only the owner, for personal market research. It is not offered as a public service.
Where data is kept
Results are stored only on the owner's computer (a local SQLite database and report files). Credentials stay in a local configuration file on that computer. See the privacy policy.
This site is a subdomain of compresslab.org, a separate product by the same developer. CompressLab does not use the Google Ads API or this tool.
